Rawh narrated to us: 'Uthman al-Shahham narrated to us: Muslim b. Abi Bakra narrated to us, from his father, that the Prophet of God, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by a man prostrating while on his way to the prayer; he finished the prayer and returned to find him still prostrating. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, stood and said: "Who will kill this one?" A man stood up, bared his arms, drew his sword and brandished it, then said: "O Prophet of God, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, how can I kill a man who is prostrating, who testifies that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger?" Then he said again: "Who will kill this one?" A man stood up and said: "I will." He bared his forearms, drew his sword and brandished it until his hand trembled, then said: "O Prophet of God, how can I kill a man who is prostrating, who testifies that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger?" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, had you killed him, it would have been the first tribulation and its last."
