حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ الْخُزَاعِيِّ عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِأَسْلَمَ صُومُوا الْيَوْمَ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا قَدْ أَكَلْنَا قَالَ صُومُوا بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِكُمْ يَعْنِي يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hajjaj told us: Shu'bah told me, from Qatadah, from Abd al-Rahman Abu al-Minhal ibn Salamah al-Khuza'i, from his uncle, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to [the tribe of] Aslam: "Fast today." They said: "We have already eaten." He said: "Then fast the rest of your day" - meaning the day of Ashura.
