حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ قَالَ زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي حُصَيْنُ بْنُ أَبِي الْحُرِّ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَعَا حَجَّامًا فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَحْجُمَهُ فَأَخْرَجَ مَحَاجِمَ لَهُ مِنْ قُرُونٍ فَأَلْزَمَهُ إِيَّاهُ فَشَرَطَهُ بِطَرَفِ شَفْرَةٍ فَصَبَّ الدَّمَ فِي إِنَاءٍ عِنْدَهُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي فَزَارَةَ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَلَامَ تُمَكِّنُ هَذَا مِنْ جِلْدِكَ يَقْطَعُهُ قَالَ فَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ هَذَا الْحَجْمُ قَالَ وَمَا الْحَجْمُ قَالَ هُوَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا تَدَاوَى بِهِ النَّاسُ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَشْيَبُ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحُرِّ الْعَنْبَرِيِّ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ زُهَيْرٍ.

Yahya ibn Abi Bukayr told us — Zuhayr ibn Mu'awiyah — Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr told us, Husayn ibn Abi al-Hurr told me, from Samurah ibn Jundub, who said: I was with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he called for a cupper and ordered him to cup him. The cupper brought out his cupping horns made from horn, applied one to him, made an incision with the edge of a blade, and poured the blood into a vessel beside him. A man from Banu Fazarah came in and said, 'What is this, Messenger of Allah? Why do you allow this man to cut your skin?' I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say, 'This is cupping.' He said, 'What is cupping?' He said, 'It is among the best remedies people use for treatment.' Al-Ashyab told us, Shayban told us, from Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr, from Husayn ibn Abi al-Hurr al-Anbari, and he mentioned the like of Zuhayr's hadith.
