حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ أَبِي صَغِيرَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صُومُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ وَأَفْطِرُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنْ حَالَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُ سَحَابٌ فَكَمِّلُوا الْعِدَّةَ ثَلَاثِينَ وَلَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الشَّهْرَ اسْتِقْبَالًا قَالَ حَاتِمٌ يَعْنِي عِدَّةَ شَعْبَانَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Fast upon sighting it (the new moon) and break your fast upon sighting it. If clouds obscure it from you, then complete the count of thirty (days). And do not anticipate the month beforehand" — meaning the count of Sha'ban.
