Yahya ibn Sa'id and Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, from Bahz, who said: my father told me, from my grandfather, who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, our private parts - what may we show of them and what must we conceal?" He said, "Guard your private part, except from your wife or what your right hand possesses." He said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what if people are mixed together with one another?" He said, "If you are able that no one see it, then let no one see it." I said, "What if one of us is alone?" He said, "Then Allah, Blessed and Exalted, is more deserving that one feel shy before Him." Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from Bahz, who mentioned the same, and said, "Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is more deserving that one feel shy before Him," and he placed his hand upon his private part. Yunus narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Zayd, who also said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his hand and placed it upon his private part.
