Abdullah told us, my father told me, Rawh told us, Sa'id ibn Abi Arubah told us, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from Imran ibn Husayn, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I do not ride on purple cloth, nor do I wear safflower-dyed clothing, nor do I wear a shirt trimmed with silk" - and al-Hasan gestured toward the collar of his shirt - and he said: "Indeed, the perfume of men is a scent without color, and indeed the perfume of women is a color without scent."
