Muhammad b. Ja'far narrated to us: Shu'ba narrated to us, from Abu al-Tayyah: A tall, dark-skinned man narrated to me - Abu al-Tayyah began describing him - that he came with Ibn Abbas to Basra, and he wrote to Abu Musa, and Abu Musa wrote back to him: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was walking, and he turned aside to soft ground beside a wall and urinated. Then he said: "The Children of Israel used to, when one of them urinated and some of his urine touched him, follow it up and cut it out with scissors." And he said: "When one of you wants to urinate, let him seek out suitable ground for his urination."
