حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَمْرَو بْنَ الشَّرِيدِ يَقُولُ قَالَ الشَّرِيدُ كُنْتُ رِدْفًا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لِي أَمَعَكَ مِنْ شِعْرِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ شَيْءٌ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ أَنْشِدْنِي فَأَنْشَدْتُهُ بَيْتًا فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَقُولُ لِي كُلَّمَا أَنْشَدْتُهُ بَيْتًا إِيهِ حَتَّى أَنْشَدْتُهُ مِائَةَ بَيْتٍ قَالَ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَكَتُّ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Rawh narrated to us: Zakariyya b. Ishaq narrated to us: Ibrahim b. Maysara narrated to us that he heard Amr b. al-Sharid say: al-Sharid said: I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said to me: Do you have with you any of the poetry of Umayyah b. Abi al-Salt? I said: Yes. He said: Recite it to me. So I recited a verse to him, and he kept saying to me, every time I recited a verse, "Go on," until I had recited a hundred verses to him. He said: Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, fell silent, and I fell silent.
