And Amr ibn Abasah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Whatever man shoots an arrow in the way of Allah, Mighty and Sublime, and it reaches the enemy, whether he misses or hits, he has the reward equal to freeing a slave from the descendants of Isma’il. And whatever man turns gray with a single gray hair in the way of Allah, it will be a light for him. And whatever Muslim man frees a Muslim man, then every limb of the freed man is a ransom for a limb of the freer from the Fire. And whatever Muslim woman frees a Muslim woman, then every limb of the freed woman is a ransom for a limb of the freer from the Fire. And whatever Muslim man sends ahead for Allah, Mighty and Sublime, three of his offspring who have not reached puberty, or a woman does the same, they will be a shield for him from the Fire. And whatever man rises to perform ablution intending to pray, and performs the ablution thoroughly in its proper places, he will be safe from every sin or fault of his; and if he then rises to pray, Allah, Mighty and Sublime, will raise him a degree by it; and if he sits, he sits safe." Shurahbil ibn al-Simt said, "Did you yourself hear this hadith from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, O Ibn Abasah?" He said, "Yes, by the One besides whom there is no god, even if I had not heard this hadith from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, except once or twice or three or four or five or six or seven times — and it stopped at seven — I would not have cared to narrate it to any of the people; but by Allah, I do not know the number of times I heard it from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him."
