Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us: Shu'bah told us, from Awn ibn Abi Juhayfa, from al-Mundhir ibn Jarir, from his father, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said, "Whoever introduces a good practice in Islam will have its reward and the reward of whoever acts upon it after him, without anything being diminished from their rewards; and whoever introduces an evil practice in Islam will bear its burden and the burden of whoever acts upon it after him, without anything being diminished from their burdens." Hashim ibn al-Qasim told us: Shu'bah told us, who said: I heard Awn ibn Abi Jahfa, from al-Mundhir ibn Jarir al-Bajali, from his father, who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in the early part of the day - and he mentioned it - except that he said: "So he ordered Bilal, and he gave the call to prayer, then he went in, then came out to pray," and he said, "as if it were gilded."
