حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَهْرَامٍ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ غَنْمٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا لَوْ اجْتَمَعْتُمَا فِي مَشُورَةٍ مَا خَالَفْتُكُمَا.

Waki' told us, Abd al-Hamid ibn Bahram told us, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from Ibn Ghanm al-Ash'ari, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, "If you two were to agree together in counsel, I would not oppose you."
