Rawh told us, Hammam told us, Abdullah ibn Abi Husayn al-Makki told us, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Ghanm, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "Whoever says, before leaving and folding his leg from the prayer of Maghrib and dawn: 'There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise; in His hand is all good; He gives life and causes death, and He has power over all things' — ten times — for each one, ten good deeds will be recorded for him, ten bad deeds erased from him, and he will be raised ten degrees. It will be a protection from every disliked thing and a protection from the accursed devil, and no sin will be permitted to overtake him except idolatry. He will be among the best of people in deeds, except a man who does more than what he did, saying better than what he said."
