حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ ثَابِتِ ابْنِ وَدِيعَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي فَزَارَةَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِضِبَابٍ قَالَ فَجَعَلَ يُقَلِّبُ ضَبًّا مِنْهَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أُمَّةً مُسِخَتْ قَالَ وَأَكْثَرُ عِلْمِي أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَا أَدْرِي لَعَلَّ هَذَا مِنْهَا قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَقَالَ حُصَيْنٌ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ فَذَكَرَ شَيْئًا نَحْوًا مِنْ هَذَا قَالَ فَلَمْ يَأْمُرْهُ وَلَمْ يَنْهَ أَحَدًا عَنْهُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Affan told us, Shu'bah told us, from Adi ibn Thabit, from Zayd ibn Wahb, from Thabit ibn Wadi'ah, that a man from Banu Fazarah came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with spiny-tailed lizards. He began turning over one of the lizards in front of him and said, "A nation was transformed." He said: And most of what I know is that he said, "I do not know — perhaps this is one of them." Shu'bah said: And Husayn said, from Zayd ibn Wahb, from Hudhayfah, he mentioned something similar to this, and said he neither commanded anyone nor forbade anyone from it.
