حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ أَنَّ آخِرَ كَلَامٍ كَلَّمَنِي بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ اسْتَعْمَلَنِي عَلَى الطَّائِفِ فَقَالَ خَفِّفْ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَى النَّاسِ حَتَّى وَقَّتَ لِي اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ وَأَشْبَاهَهَا مِنْ الْقُرْآنِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Mu'awiyah ibn Amr narrated to us, from Za'idah, from Abdullah ibn Khuthaym, who said: Dawud ibn Abi 'Asim al-Thaqafi narrated to me, from Uthman ibn Abi al-'As, that the last words the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, spoke to me, when he appointed me over al-Ta'if, were that he said: 'Be brief with the people in the prayer,' until he specified for me: 'Recite "By the Name of your Lord who created" and similar short passages of the Qur'an.'
