Husayn ibn Muhammad told us: Sharik told us, from Layth, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from Amr ibn Kharijah al-Thumali, who said: I asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about a sacrificial animal that becomes disabled on the way. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Slaughter it, dip its sandal-mark in its blood, and strike it upon its side' — or he said 'upon its flank' — 'and do not eat anything from it, neither you nor your traveling companions.'
