حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ الْمِنْهَالِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَيَّامِ الْبِيضِ فَهُوَ صَوْمُ الشَّهْرِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ بْنِ مِلْحَانَ الْعَبْسِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُ بِصِيَامٍ فَذَكَرَهُ.

Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, from Anas ibn Sirin, from Abd al-Malik ibn al-Minhal, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded us regarding the White Days, that this constitutes the fasting of the month. Abd al-Samad told us: Hammam told us: Anas ibn Sirin told us, from Abd al-Malik ibn Qatadah ibn Milhan al-Absi, from his father, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to command fasting - and he mentioned it.
