حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَيَّاشُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ شِيَيْمَ بْنَ بَيْتَانَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ شَيْبَانَ الْقِتْبَانِيَّ يَقُولُ اسْتَخْلَفَ مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ مُخَلَّدٍ رُوَيْفِعَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ عَلَى أَسْفَلِ الْأَرْضِ قَالَ فَسِرْنَا مَعَهُ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا رُوَيْفِعُ لَعَلَّ الْحَيَاةَ سَتَطُولُ بِكَ بَعْدِي فَأَخْبِرْ النَّاسَ أَنَّهُ مَنْ عَقَدَ لِحْيَتَهُ أَوْ تَقَلَّدَ وَتَرًا أَوْ اسْتَنْجَى بِرَجِيعِ دَابَّةٍ أَوْ بِعَظْمٍ فَإِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَرِيءٌ مِنْهُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Yahya ibn Ghaylan told us, saying: al-Mufaddal told us, saying: Ayyash ibn Abbas told me that Shuyaym ibn Baytan informed him that he heard Shayban al-Qitbani say: Maslamah ibn Mukhallad appointed Ruwayfi' ibn Thabit al-Ansari as his deputy over the lower land. He said: "We traveled with him." He said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me: 'O Ruwayfi', perhaps life will be prolonged for you after me, so inform the people that whoever ties a knot in his beard, or hangs a bowstring, or cleans himself with the dung or bone of an animal — Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, disowns him.'"
