Abu Sa'id, freedman of the Banu Hashim, told us: Imran Abu al-Awwam told us, from Qatadah, from Abu al-Malih, from Wathilah ibn al-Asqa', that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The Scrolls of Abraham, peace be upon him, were sent down on the first night of Ramadan; the Torah was sent down on the sixth (night) that had passed of Ramadan; the Gospel on the thirteenth (night) that had passed of Ramadan; and the Criterion (Qur'an) was sent down on the twenty-fourth (night) that had passed of Ramadan."
