حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ تَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ يَقُولُ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا السُّنَّةُ فِي الرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكُفْرِ يُسْلِمُ عَلَى يَدَيْ الرَّجُلِ مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَقَالَ هُوَ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِحَيَاتِهِ وَمَوْتِهِ.

Abu Nu'aym narrated to us: 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz narrated to us from 'Abdullah ibn Mawhab, who said: I heard Tamim al-Dari say: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: 'What is the sunna concerning a man from the people of unbelief who embraces Islam at the hands of a man among the Muslims?' He said: 'He has the greatest claim upon him, in his life and his death.'
