حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ لَمَّا خَرَجَ الْمَجُوسِيُّ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَأَلْتُهُ فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيَّرَهُ بَيْنَ الْجِزْيَةِ وَالْقَتْلِ فَاخْتَارَ الْجِزْيَةَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) went out one day and he followed him until the Prophet entered a palm grove and prostrated. His prostration was so long that Abd al-Rahman feared the Prophet had died. He came and looked, and the Prophet raised his head and asked: 'What is the matter, O Abd al-Rahman?' He replied: 'O Messenger of Allah, you prostrated so long that I feared you had died.' The Prophet said: 'Jibril came to me and gave me glad tidings, saying: Allah says to you: Whoever sends blessings upon you, I send blessings upon him. Whoever sends salutations upon you, I send salutations upon him. So I prostrated to Allah in gratitude.'
