حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ قَالَ أَقْطَعَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ أَرْضَ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَذَهَبَ الزُّبَيْرُ إِلَى آلِ عُمَرَ فَاشْتَرَى نَصِيبَهُ مِنْهُمْ فَأَتَى عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ زَعَمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَقْطَعَهُ وَعُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ أَرْضَ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَإِنِّي اشْتَرَيْتُ نَصِيبَ آلِ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ جَائِزُ الشَّهَادَةِ لَهُ وَعَلَيْهِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) granted me and Umar ibn al-Khattab a plot of land. Al-Zubayr went to the family of Umar and bought their share. Then he went to Uthman ibn Affan and said: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf claims that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) granted him and Umar a plot of land, and I bought the share of Umar's family.' Uthman said: 'Abd al-Rahman's testimony is acceptable for and against him.'
