Muhammad ibn Mus'ab, who is al-Qurqusa'i, told us, he said: al-Awza'i told us, from Hassan ibn Atiyyah, from Khalid ibn Ma'dan, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, from Dhu Mikhmar, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: You will make a secure peace with the Byzantines, and you and they will fight a common enemy from behind them, and you will be granted safety and spoils; then you will camp at a meadow with hillocks. Then a man of the Byzantines will rise and raise the cross and say: Indeed, the cross has prevailed. Then a man of the Muslims will rise against him and kill him. At that point, the Byzantines will betray their pact, and the great battles will occur, and they will gather against you and come to you in eighty banners, with ten thousand under each banner.
