حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ حُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ عَنْ فُلَانِ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ.

Abdullah told us: My father told me, and Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah [also narrated to us]: Mu'awiyah ibn Hisham told us, he said: Sufyan told us, from Humran ibn A'yan, from Abu al-Tufayl, from so-and-so ibn Jariyah al-Ansari, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Your brother the Negus has died, so pray [the funeral prayer] over him."
