Hisham ibn Sa'id narrated to us, who said: Khalid informed us, who said: 'Amr ibn Yahya ibn 'Umarah al-Ansari informed us - my father said, and Khalaf ibn al-Walid said: Khalid narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Yahya, from his father, from 'Abdullah ibn Zayd ibn 'Asim, who was a Companion - it was said to him: "Perform ablution for us as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, performed it." He said: He called for a vessel and poured water from it onto his hands three times and washed them, then put his hand in and took it out, and rinsed his mouth and inhaled water into his nose from a single handful, doing that three times, then took it out; then he washed his face; then he put his hand in and took it out and washed his arms up to the elbows twice each; then he put his hand in and took it out and wiped his head, moving his hand forward and then backward; then he washed his feet up to the ankles; then he said: "This is how the ablution of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was."
