He said: Yazid ibn Harun told us: Muhammad ibn Ishaq informed us, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn al-Harith, from Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Atik, one of Banu Salima, from his father Abdullah ibn Atik, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Whoever leaves his house as a fighter in the way of Allah, Mighty and Majestic" - then he said, with his fingers, these three: the middle finger, the index finger, and the thumb, joining them together, and said: "and where are the fighters?" - "then falls from his mount and dies, his reward has fallen upon Allah, the Exalted. Or a beast stings him and he dies, his reward has fallen upon Allah. Or he dies a natural death, his reward has fallen upon Allah, Mighty and Majestic. By Allah, it is a saying I never heard from anyone among the Arabs before the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: 'then he dies, his reward has fallen upon Allah, the Exalted. And whoever dies suddenly has earned the final abode.'"
