حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ أَخْبَرَنِي الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي فِي نَعْلَيْهِ قَالَ فَتَنَخَّعَ فَتَفَلَهُ تَحْتَ نَعْلِهِ الْيُسْرَى قَالَ ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُهُ حَكَّهَا بِنَعْلَيْهِ.

'Ali ibn 'Asim told us: al-Jurayri informed me, from Abu al-'Ala' ibn al-Shikhkhir, from his father, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, praying in his sandals; he said: Then he spat and expelled his spittle beneath his left sandal; he said: Then I saw him rub it with both his sandals.
