He said: Waki' told us: Hisham told us, from Qatadah, from Mutarrif ibn 'Abd Allah, from his father, that a man came up to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was saying — and Waki' once said: came up to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was reciting: 'Rivalry in worldly increase distracts you until you visit the graves' — he said: The son of Adam says, 'My wealth, my wealth,' yet do you have of your wealth anything but what you gave in charity and thus made pass on, or wore and thus wore out, or ate and thus consumed?
