حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْخُلُ الْمَلَكُ عَلَى النُّطْفَةِ بَعْدَمَا تَسْتَقِرُّ فِي الرَّحِمِ بِأَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً أَوْ خَمْسِينَ وَأَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ مَاذَا أَشَقِيٌّ أَمْ سَعِيدٌ أَذَكَرٌ أَمْ أُنْثَى فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فَيَكْتُبَانِ فَيَقُولَانِ مَاذَا أَذَكَرٌ أَمْ أُنْثَى فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَيَكْتُبَانِ فَيُكْتَبُ عَمَلُهُ وَأَثَرُهُ وَمُصِيبَتُهُ وَرِزْقُهُ ثُمَّ تُطْوَى الصَّحِيفَةُ فَلَا يُزَادُ عَلَى مَا فِيهَا وَلَا يُنْقَصُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Sufyan told us, from 'Amr, from Abu al-Tufayl, from Hudhayfah ibn Asid al-Ghifari, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him - or he said: the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said - "The angel enters upon the sperm-drop after it settles in the womb, after forty nights" - and Sufyan said once: "or fifty and forty nights" - "and it says: 'O Lord, is it wretched or fortunate, male or female?' Then Allah, Blessed and Exalted, decrees, and the two angels write it down. Then they say: 'What, is it male or female?' Then Allah, Mighty and Sublime, decrees, and they write it down; so its deeds, its traces, its affliction, and its provision are written. Then the scroll is folded up, and nothing is added to what is in it nor taken away."
