قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ الشَّافِعِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ أَنَّ سَهْلَ بْنَ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ وَرِجَالٌ مِنْ كُبَرَاءِ قَوْمِهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِحُوَيِّصَةَ وَمُحَيِّصَةَ وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَتَحْلِفُونَ وَتَسْتَحِقُّونَ دَمَ صَاحِبِكُمْ قَالُوا لَا قَالَ فَتَحْلِفُ يَهُودُ قَالُوا لَيْسُوا بِمُسْلِمِينَ فَوَدَاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
He said: Muhammad ibn Idris al-Shafi'i told us, he said: Malik told us, from Abu Layla ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Sahl ibn Abi Hathmah, that Sahl ibn Abi Hathmah informed him, and men among the elders of his people, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to Huwayyisah, Muhayyisah, and 'Abd al-Rahman, "Will you swear an oath and thereby be entitled to the blood of your companion?" They said, "No." He said, "Then will the Jews swear?" They said, "They are not Muslims." So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, paid the blood-money for him from his own resources.
