قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَبِيبُ بْنُ غَرْقَدَةَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْأَحْوَصِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ حَجَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَجْنِي جَانٍ إِلَّا عَلَى نَفْسِهِ لَا يَجْنِي وَالِدٌ عَلَى وَلَدِهِ وَلَا مَوْلُودٌ عَلَى وَالِدِهِ.

He said: Abu Sa'id, the freedman of Banu Hashim, told us: Za'idah told us: Shabib ibn Gharqadah told us, from Sulayman ibn Amr ibn al-Ahwas, who said: My father told me that he was present at the Farewell Pilgrimage with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, 'No wrongdoer commits a crime except against himself; a father is not held guilty for the crime of his child, nor is a child held guilty for the crime of his father.'
