قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْمُرَقِّعُ بْنُ صَيْفِيٍّ عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَبَاحِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ أَخِي حَنْظَلَةَ الْكَاتِبِ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةٍ غَزَاهَا وَعَلَى مُقَدِّمَتِهِ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ فَمَرَّ رَبَاحٌ وَأَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ مَقْتُولَةٍ مِمَّا أَصَابَتْ الْمُقَدِّمَةُ فَوَقَفُوا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهَا وَيَتَعَجَّبُونَ مِنْ خَلْقِهَا حَتَّى لَحِقَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فَانْفَرَجُوا عَنْهَا فَوَقَفَ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مَا كَانَتْ هَذِهِ لِتُقَاتِلَ فَقَالَ لِأَحَدِهِمْ الْحَقْ خَالِدًا فَقُلْ لَهُ لَا تَقْتُلُونَ ذُرِّيَّةً وَلَا عَسِيفًا قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي الْمُرَقِّعُ بْنُ صَيْفِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ أَنَّ رَبَاحًا جَدَّهُ ابْنَ الرَّبِيعِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْمُرَقِّعِ بْنِ صَيْفِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ أَخِي حَنْظَلَةَ الْكَاتِبِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي جَدِّي أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أُخْبِرْتُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مُرَقِّعُ بْنُ صَيْفِيٍّ التَّمِيمِيُّ شَهِدَ عَلَى جَدِّهِ رَبَاحِ بْنِ رَبِيعٍ الْحَنْظَلِيِّ الْكَاتِبِ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةٍ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ.

Abu Amir Abd al-Malik b. Amr narrated to us: al-Mughirah b. Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Abu al-Zinad: al-Muraqqa' b. Sayfi narrated to me, from his grandfather Rabah b. al-Rabi', brother of Hanzalah the Scribe, that he informed him that he went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on a military expedition he waged, with Khalid b. al-Walid commanding the vanguard. Rabah and the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by a slain woman among those the vanguard had killed, and they stopped, looking at her and marveling at her form, until the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, caught up with them upon his mount. They parted from around her, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stopped over her and said, "This one would not have fought." Then he said to one of them, "Catch up with Khalid and tell him: do not kill any offspring or any hired laborer." Ibrahim b. Abi al-Abbas narrated to us: Abd al-Rahman b. Abi al-Zinad narrated to us, from Abu al-Zinad, that al-Muraqqa' b. Sayfi b. Rabah informed him, that his grandfather Rabah b. al-Rabi' informed him that he was with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he related the hadith. Husayn b. Muhammad narrated to us: Ibn Abi al-Zinad narrated to us, from his father, from al-Muraqqa' b. Sayfi b. Rabah, brother of Hanzalah the Scribe, who said: My grandfather informed me that he went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he related the hadith. Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us: Ibn Jurayj informed us: I was informed from Abu al-Zinad, that al-Muraqqa' b. Sayfi al-Tamimi, testifying on the authority of his grandfather Rabah b. Rabi' al-Hanzali the Scribe, informed him that he went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on an expedition, and he related the same as the hadith of Ibn Abi al-Zinad.
