Abu al-Mughirah narrated to us: al-Awza'i narrated to us: Abd al-Wahid ibn Qays narrated to us, he said: Urwah ibn al-Zubayr narrated to us from Kurz al-Khuza'i, who said: A Bedouin came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: O Messenger of God, does this matter [Islam] have an end? He said: Yes; whoever God intends good for, of non-Arab or Arab, He brings it upon them; then trials will occur like patches of shade, and they will return to them as black snakes rearing up, striking one another's necks. The best of people on that day will be a believer secluded in one of the mountain passes, fearing his Lord, Blessed and Exalted, and sparing people from his harm. My father [Ahmad] said: And Muhammad ibn Mus'ab al-Qurqusani narrated to me the like of Ibn al-Mughirah's hadith, except that he said 'Kurz ibn Hubaysh al-Khuza'i.'
