Sufyan told us, saying: I heard it from al-Zuhri, from Sa'id, that Umar said: "The blood-money belongs to the paternal kin, and a wife does not inherit from the blood-money of her husband" - until al-Dahhak ibn Sufyan al-Kilabi informed him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had written to him that he should let the wife of Ashyam al-Dababi inherit from the blood-money of her husband, so Umar retracted his statement.
