حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَطَالَ أَحَدُكُمْ الْغَيْبَةَ فَلَا يَطْرُقَنَّ أَهْلَهُ لَيْلًا.

Attab told us, Abdullah told us, Asim ibn Sulayman told us, from al-Sha'bi, that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If one of you has been away for a long time, let him not come knocking on his family by night."
