حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَقْبَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِذَاتِ الرِّقَاعِ قَالَ كُنَّا إِذَا أَتَيْنَا عَلَى شَجَرَةٍ ظَلِيلَةٍ تَرَكْنَاهَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَسَيْفُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُعَلَّقٌ بِشَجَرَةٍ فَأَخَذَ سَيْفَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاخْتَرَطَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَخَافُنِي قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَمَنْ يَمْنَعُكَ مِنِّي قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَمْنَعُنِي مِنْكَ قَالَ فَتَهَدَّدَهُ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَغْمَدَ السَّيْفَ وَعَلَّقَهُ فَنُودِيَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَصَلَّى بِطَائِفَةٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَتَأَخَّرُوا وَصَلَّى بِالطَّائِفَةِ الْأُخْرَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَكَانَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعُ رَكَعَاتٍ وَلِلْقَوْمِ رَكْعَتَانِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Affan told us, Aban told us, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir told us, from Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: We were traveling with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, until, when we were at Dhat al-Riqa', we would, whenever we came upon a shady tree, leave it for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. A man from among the polytheists came while the sword of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was hanging on a tree. He took the sword of the Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and drew it, then said to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: Do you fear me? He said: No. He said: Then who will protect you from me? He said: Allah, Mighty and Majestic, protects me from you. The Companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, then threatened him, so he sheathed the sword and hung it back up. Then the call to prayer was made, and he led one group in two rak'ahs, and they withdrew, and he led the other group in two rak'ahs. Thus the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed four rak'ahs, while the people prayed two.
