Musa told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from Abu al-Zubayr, who said: I asked Jabir about a man who takes as client the freed slaves of another man without his permission. He said: the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wrote for every clan its blood-money obligations, then wrote that it is not lawful for anyone to take as client the freed slaves of a man without his permission.
