Zayd ibn al-Hubab told us, Husayn ibn Waqid told me, from Abu al-Zubayr, he said: I heard Jabir say: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by a man lying weakly, turning from his back to his stomach, and asked about him. They said: "He is fasting, O Prophet of God." So he called him and ordered him to break his fast, and said: "Is it not enough for you, being in the way of God and with the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, that you must fast too?"
