حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبٌ يَعْنِي الْمُعَلِّمَ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ حَدَّثَنِي جَابِرٌ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَهَلَّ وَأَصْحَابُهُ بِالْحَجِّ وَلَيْسَ مَعَ أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ هَدْيٌ إِلَّا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَطَلْحَةَ وَكَانَ عَلِيٌّ قَدِمَ مِنْ الْيَمَنِ وَمَعَهُ الْهَدْيُ فَقَالَ أَهْلَلْتُ بِمَا أَهَلَّ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ أَنْ يَجْعَلُوهَا عُمْرَةً وَيَطُوفُوا ثُمَّ يُقَصِّرُوا وَيَحِلُّوا إِلَّا مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ الْهَدْيُ فَقَالُوا نَنْطَلِقُ إِلَى مِنًى وَذَكَرُ أَحَدِنَا يَقْطُرُ فَبَلَغَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَوْ أَنِّي أَسْتَقْبِلُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتُدْبِرَ مَا أَهْدَيْتُ وَلَوْلَا أَنَّ مَعِي الْهَدْيَ لَأَحْلَلْتُ وَأَنَّ عَائِشَةَ حَاضَتْ فَنَسَكَتْ الْمَنَاسِكَ كُلَّهَا غَيْرَ أَنَّهَا لَمْ تَطُفْ بِالْبَيْتِ فَلَمَّا طَهُرَتْ طَافَتْ قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَتَنْطَلِقُونَ بِحَجٍّ وَعُمْرَةٍ وَأَنْطَلِقُ بِالْحَجِّ فَأَمَرَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ مَعَهَا إِلَى التَّنْعِيمِ فَاعْتَمَرَتْ بَعْدَ الْحَجِّ فِي ذِي الْحِجَّةِ وَأَنَّ سُرَاقَةَ بْنَ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ لَقِيَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْعَقَبَةِ وَهُوَ يَرْمِيهَا فَقَالَ أَلَكُمْ هَذِهِ خَاصَّةً يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَا بَلْ لِلْأَبَدِ.

Abd al-Wahhab al-Thaqafi told us, Habib the teacher told us, from Ata', who said: Jabir told me that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions entered the state of consecration for Hajj, and none of them had a sacrificial animal that day except the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and Talha. Ali had come from Yemen bringing the sacrificial animal with him, and he said: "I have entered consecration for what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, entered consecration for." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered his companions to convert it into an Umrah, to perform the circumambulation, then to shorten their hair and release themselves from consecration, except those who had a sacrificial animal with them. They said: "Shall we go to Mina while the private part of one of us still drips?" This reached the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: "If I could go back on what I have done, I would not have brought the sacrificial animal; and were it not that I have the sacrificial animal with me, I would have released myself from consecration." And Aisha menstruated, and she performed all the rites except that she did not circumambulate the House; then when she became pure she circumambulated it. She said: "O Messenger of Allah, will they go away having performed both Hajj and Umrah while I go away only with Hajj?" So he ordered Abd al-Rahman to go out with her to al-Tan'im, and she performed Umrah after the Hajj, in Dhu al-Hijjah. And Suraqah ibn Malik ibn Ju'shum met the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, at al-Aqabah while he was stoning it, and he said: "Is this for you specifically, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "No, it is forever."
