Muhammad ibn Abdullah told us: Humayd told us: Thabit told us, who said: Anas said: An old man was passed by, being supported between his two sons. He, the Prophet, said, 'What is the matter with this man?' They said, 'He vowed, O Messenger of God, to walk to Mecca.' He said, 'God, Mighty and Majestic, has no need of this man torturing himself.' So he ordered him to ride, and he rode.
