حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي نَعَامَةَ الْحَنَفِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ لَا يَقْرَءُونَ يَعْنِي لَا يَجْهَرُونَ.

Abdullah ibn al-Walid told us: Sufyan told us, from Khalid al-Hadhdha, from Abu Nu'ama al-Hanafi, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and Abu Bakr and Umar did not recite aloud - meaning they did not raise their voices in recitation.
