حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ، وَحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ لَمَّا قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ مِنَّا أَمِيرٌ وَمِنْكُمْ أَمِيرٌ فَأَتَاهُمْ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَمَرَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنْ يَؤُمَّ النَّاسَ فَأَيُّكُمْ تَطِيبُ نَفْسُهُ أَنْ يَتَقَدَّمَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ نَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ أَنْ نَتَقَدَّمَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
It was narrated from Zirr that Hadrat 'Abdullah said: When the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) departed this world, the Ansar said: A leader from among us and a leader from among you. ‘Umar went to them and said: O Ansar, do you not know that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) ordered Hadrat Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer? Which of you would like himself to be given precedence over Hadrat Abu Bakr? The Ansar said: We seek refuge with Allah from being given precedence over Hadrat Abu Bakr.
