حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ أَسْلَمَ نَاسٌ مِنْ عُرَيْنَةَ فَاجْتَوَوْا الْمَدِينَةَ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ خَرَجْتُمْ إِلَى ذَوْدٍ لَنَا فَشَرِبْتُمْ مِنْ أَلْبَانِهَا قَالَ حُمَيْدٌ وَقَالَ قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ وَأَبْوَالِهَا فَفَعَلُوا فَلَمَّا صَحُّوا كَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِسْلَامِهِمْ وَقَتَلُوا رَاعِيَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُؤْمِنًا أَوْ مُسْلِمًا وَسَاقُوا ذَوْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهَرَبُوا مُحَارِبِينَ فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي آثَارِهِمْ فَأُخِذُوا فَقَطَّعَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَرْجُلَهُمْ وَسَمَرَ أَعْيُنَهُمْ وَتَرَكَهُمْ فِي الْحَرَّةِ حَتَّى مَاتُوا حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَدِمَ رَهْطٌ مِنْ عُرَيْنَةَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاجْتَوَوْا الْمَدِينَةَ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ وَذَكَرَ أَيْضًا فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ حُمَيْدٌ فَحَدَّثَ قَتَادَةُ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَأَبْوَالِهَا.

Ibn Abi Adi told us, from Humayd, from Anas, who said: Some people from Urayna embraced Islam, but they found Madinah unsuitable for their health, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to them: If you were to go out to some camels of ours, you could drink their milk — Humayd said, and Qatadah said, from Anas: and their urine — so they did that, and when they recovered they disbelieved after their Islam, and killed the shepherd of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him — a believer, or a Muslim — and drove off the camels of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and fled as combatants. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent men after them, and they were seized; he cut off their hands and feet, seared their eyes, and left them in the lava field until they died. Yazid told us, Humayd informed us, from Anas, who said: A group from Urayna came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and found Madinah unsuitable for their health — he mentioned the like of it, and also mentioned in his hadith — Humayd said: Qatadah narrated in this hadith: and their urine.
