حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ كَانُوا يَسْتَفْتِحُونَ الْقِرَاءَةَ بِ { الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ }.

Yazid informed us: Hammad ibn Salamah informed us, from Qatadah and Thabit, from Anas ibn Malik, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, Abu Bakr, 'Umar, and 'Uthman used to begin the recitation with "Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds."
