Hisham ibn Sa'id, who is Abu Ahmad al-Talaqani, told us: Muhammad ibn Rashid told us, he said: I heard Makhul narrating from Musa ibn Anas, from his father, who said, "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not have enough gray hair to require dyeing, but Abu Bakr used to dye his hair with henna and katam until his hair turned deep red."
