حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَتَّابٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ بَايَعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُ.

Abd ar-Rahman told us, Shu'bah told us, from Attab, who said: I heard Anas ibn Malik say: I pledged allegiance to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to hear and obey as much as I was able.
