حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ كَانُوا يَفْتَتِحُونَ الْقِرَاءَةَ بِالْحَمْدِ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ.

Yahya told us, Hisham told us, Qatadah told us, from Anas ibn Malik, that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman used to begin the recitation with "Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds."
