حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ سَأَلَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْنَا فَكَيْفَ نَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالَ فَقُولُوا وَعَلَيْكُمْ وَحَجَّاجٌ مِثْلَهُ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ لَمْ أَسْأَلْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ هَلْ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ أَنَسٍ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Yahya narrated to us, from Shu'bah: Qatadah and Ibn Ja'far narrated to us, they said: Shu'bah narrated to us, who said: I heard Qatadah, from Anas, who said: The companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "The People of the Book greet us with peace — how should we return their greeting?" He said: "Say, 'And upon you.'" And Hajjaj narrated similarly. Shu'bah said: I did not ask Qatadah about this hadith, whether he heard it from Anas.
