حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ جَلَسْتُ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَذْكُرُ أَنَّهُ يَبْلُغُ الْعَرَقُ مِنْ النَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا إِلَى شَحْمَتِهِ وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ يُلْجِمُهُ فَخَطَّ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَأَشَارَ أَبُو عَاصِمٍ بِأُصْبُعِهِ مِنْ أَسْفَلِ شَحْمَةِ أُذُنَيْهِ إِلَى فِيهِ فَقَالَ مَا أَرَى ذَاكَ إِلَّا سَوَاءً.

Al-Dahhak ibn Makhlad told us, from Abd al-Hamid ibn Ja'far, my father told me, from Sa'id ibn Umayr al-Ansari, who said: "I sat with Abdullah ibn Umar and Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, and one of them said to his companion: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, mention that sweat will reach the people on the Day of Resurrection.'" One of them said: "'Up to his earlobe.'" The other said: "'It will bridle him.'" So Ibn Umar drew a line, and Abu Amir pointed with his finger from the bottom of his earlobe to his mouth, and said: "I see no difference between the two."
