حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي نُعْمٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ بَعَثَ عَلِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ بِالْيَمَنِ بِذُهَيْبَةٍ فِي تُرْبَتِهَا فَقَسَمَهَا بَيْنَ الْأَقْرَعِ بْنِ حَابِسٍ الْحَنْظَلِيِّ ثُمَّ أَحَدِ بَنِي مُجَاشِعٍ وَبَيْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ بْنِ بَدْرٍ الْفَزَارِيِّ وَبَيْنَ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ عُلَاثَةَ الْعَامِرِيِّ ثُمَّ أَحَدِ بَنِي كِلَابٍ وَبَيْنَ زَيْدِ الْخَيْرِ الطَّائِيِّ ثُمَّ أَحَدِ بَنِي نَبْهَانَ قَالَ فَغَضِبَتْ قُرَيْشٌ وَالْأَنْصَارُ قَالُوا يُعْطِي صَنَادِيدَ أَهْلِ نَجْدٍ وَيَدَعُنَا قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَتَأَلَّفُهُمْ قَالَ فَأَقْبَلَ رَجُلٌ غَائِرُ الْعَيْنَيْنِ نَاتِئُ الْجَبِينِ كَثُّ اللِّحْيَةِ مُشْرِفُ الْوَجْنَتَيْنِ مَحْلُوقٌ قَالَ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ اتَّقِ اللَّهَ قَالَ فَمَنْ يُطِيعُ اللَّهَ إِذَا عَصَيْتُهُ يَأْمَنُنِي عَلَى أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ وَلَا تَأْمَنُونِي قَالَ فَسَأَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ قَتْلَهُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُرَاهُ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ فَمَنَعَهُ فَلَمَّا وَلَّى قَالَ إِنَّ مِنْ ضِئْضِئِ هَذَا قَوْمٌ يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ لَا يُجَاوِزُ حَنَاجِرَهُمْ يَمْرُقُونَ مِنْ الْإِسْلَامِ مُرُوقَ السَّهْمِ مِنْ الرَّمِيَّةِ يَقْتُلُونَ أَهْلَ الْإِسْلَامِ وَيَدَعُونَ أَهْلَ الْأَوْثَانِ لَئِنْ أَنَا أَدْرَكْتُهُمْ لَأَقْتُلَنَّهُمْ قَتْلَ عَادٍ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us: Sufyan informed us, from his father, from Ibn Abi Nu'm, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, he said: Ali sent to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was in Yemen, a small quantity of gold still in its ore, and he distributed it among al-Aqra' ibn Habis al-Hanzali — one of Banu Mujashi' — and 'Uyaynah ibn Badr al-Fazari, and 'Alqamah ibn 'Ulathah al-'Amiri — one of Banu Kilab — and Zayd al-Khayr al-Ta'i — one of Banu Nabhan. He said: The Quraysh and the Ansar became angry and said, "He gives to the chiefs of the people of Najd and leaves us out." He said: "I am only conciliating their hearts." Then a man came forward with sunken eyes, a protruding forehead, a thick beard, prominent cheekbones, and a shaven head, and said: "O Muhammad, fear Allah!" He said: "Who would obey Allah if I disobeyed Him? He entrusts me with the people of the earth, yet you do not trust me?" A man among the people asked permission to kill him — I think it was Khalid ibn al-Walid — but he forbade him. When the man turned away, he said: "Indeed, from the seed of this one will come a people who recite the Qur'an, but it will not pass beyond their throats; they will pass out of Islam as an arrow passes through its game. They will kill the people of Islam and leave the idol-worshippers. If I live to see them, I will surely kill them as the tribe of 'Ad was killed."
