Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us, Shayban narrated to us, from Yahya, Iyad ibn Hilal al-Ansari told me, he said: I heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When one of you prays and forgets how many rak'ahs he has prayed" — or he said: "does not know whether he added or omitted" — "let him perform two prostrations while seated. And when the devil comes to one of you and says, 'You have broken your ablution,' let him say, 'You have lied,' unless he hears it with his ear or smells it with his nose."
